Foradil Inhaler Information
Foradil Inhaler is a drug with generic name of Formoterol Fumarate or Oxis. Foradil Inhaler is a long-acting selective beta 2-adrenergic receptor agonist that functions in the lungs as a bronchodilator.
Foradil Inhaler relaxes the muscles in the walls of the airways, allowing such to expand. Foradil helps to manage asthma in people who need customary treatment with short-acting inhalers, including those with nighttime asthma. Foradil Inhaler also helps to relive tightening of the airways of people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Foradil Inhaler Indications
Foradil is indicated to prevent asthma attacks. Foradil Inhaler should not be used for the relief of acute asthma symptoms. There are other prescribed medications for acute asthma attacks such as Proventil or Ventolin.
Foradil Inhaler is also indicated for the acute prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm in adults and children 5 years of age and older.
Foradil Inhaler is indicated for the long-term, twice a day administration in the maintenance treatment of bronchoconstriction in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Foradil Inhaler Warnings
Do not use Foradil Inhaler to treat acute asthma. Foradil Inhaler has not been studied to relive acute asthma. Foradil Inhaler is not a replacement for corticosteroids. Do not stop taking corticosteroids at the time that Foradil Inhaler is initiated.
Caution should be initiated for patients taking Foradil Inhaler with the following conditions:
Hypertension Cardiac arrhythmias Cardiovascular disorders, especially coronary insufficiency Convulsive disorders or Thyrotoxicosis Diabetes mellitus and ketoacidosis
Foradil Inhaler Dosage
For long-term control of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older, the dosage of Foradil is one capsule every 12 hours.
For the prevention of exercise-induced asthma in adults and children 12years of age and older, the dosage of Foradil is one capsule at least 15 minutes before exercise. If a second dose of Foradil is a necessary need for the same day, it must be taken at least 12 hours after the first dose.
For the prevention of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the usual dosage of Foradil is one capsule every 12 hours. It is very important for you to check your doctor if the normal dosage fails to provide the typical relief.
Foradil Inhaler Overdose
Symptoms of Foradil Inhaler overdose may include the following:
Chest pain Dizziness Dry mouth Fast or irregular heartbeat Fatigue General feeling of illness Headache Heart palpitations Inability to sleep Muscle cramps Nausea Nervousness Seizures Tremor Other overdose of Foradil Inhaler not mentioned here may also occur. Consult your doctor immediately if you suspect an overdose of Foradil Inhaler.
Foradil Inhaler Missed Dose
Immediately take the missed dose of Foradil Inhaler as soon as you remember but if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and take the subsequent dose according to schedule. It is important to remember not to take a double dose of Foradil Inhaler medication.

Side effects of Foradil Inhaler may include the following:
Allergic reactions Abdominal pain Back pain Chest infection Bronchitis Difficulty speaking Difficulty breathing Anxiety Fatigue High blood sugar High or low blood pressure Sinusitis Sore throat Stomach upset Tonsillitis Fever Headache Indigestion Irregular heartbeat Muscle cramps Upper respiratory and viral infections Worsening of asthma Other side effects of Foradil Inhaler not mentioned here may also occur. Foradil Inhaler Drug Reactions
Several drugs may interfere with the original function of Foradil Inhaler. Talk to your doctor first before using any of the following drugs:
